Does God hear my prayer?

God has promised to hear all prayers that are said in the name of Jesus. Praying in the name of Jesus means that we believe in Jesus and therefore have a connection to God. We do not approach God trusting in anything of our own but trusting in the saving work of Jesus.

God hears all prayers, but that does not mean, that he would always answer as we expect. God is not a ”prayer-answering-machine” who fulfils all wishes, but a Father who knows the need of His children. He gives us that which is best for us in light of our eternity. Therefore he sometimes answers our prayers by denying our wishes. Sometimes He lets us wait and sometimes we might immediately acquire an affirming answer.

Of that we can be sure that when we ask for forgiveness for our sins and ask for salvation, He has an immeadiate affimative answer. We may read His answer from the Bible when He promises forgiveness for sins to those who confess their sins.

Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
(Matthew 7:9-11, ESV)

God, sometimes I wonder, whether you hear me or not. Thank you for hearing!
